Estate agent Jan-Erik Joost

Jan-Erik Joost

Estate agent, Uus Maa · Tallinn and Harjumaa

I don't sell listings. I sell homes, and I do it one property at a time, from start to finish myself.

I started early and I haven't stopped since

I moved into property while most people my age were still working out what to do with their lives. It suited me straight away: every property is different, every client arrives with a different worry and a different plan, and the result can be measured.

Today I work as a Uus Maa estate agent in Tallinn and Harjumaa. That means your deal has the experience and support of a large office behind it, while one person handles everything with you.

Over my career I have helped more than 21 million euros' worth of property change hands. Every deal has been somebody's home, and that is how I treat them.

Where I am today

The numbers are current as of today and grow with every deal.

What is different about working with me

Four reasons clients keep recommending me.

01

You deal only with me

I don't hand you over to an assistant. The same person who comes to the first meeting stands beside you at the notary.

02

The phone is always on

I usually reply the same day, evenings and weekends included. During the sale you never have to guess what is going on.

03

An honest price, not a flattering one

I give you the number that actually holds on the market. Too high a price is paid for first in time and in the end in money.

04

Visibility that goes beyond the portals

My content reaches over 500 000 potential buyers through social media and my mailing list. Some deals start right there, not from a listing.

My working principles

Three things that are the same for every property, whatever the price bracket.

01

I prepare before I speak

Before the first meeting I go through the recent deals in the area. You get numbers from me, not feelings.

02

The property has to look its best

Professional photography or video comes with every property. The first impression happens on a phone screen and you can't fix it afterwards.

03

Negotiating is my job

You don't have to haggle over the price or argue terms with the buyer. That is what I am here for.

I held talks with four different brokers. What convinced me about Jan-Erik, despite his young age, was his belief that the apartment would sell and his confidence.

Since our new home was already nearing completion, we did not have much time for the sale. Essentially, within one month and five viewings we had found a buyer at the price we wanted. Every agreement held, and Jan-Erik kept me informed throughout the process. The notarial closing and the handover of the keys both went smoothly. I should add that I first put the apartment up for sale myself, and over those few weeks I received only lowball offers and not a single viewing. Using a broker may look at first like a pointless expense, but from my own experience I can say it was worth every euro.

Why I do this work

I love the moment at the notary when the keys change hands and someone finally breathes out. All the rest of the work is done for that moment.

I am young and I don't hide it. What I put on the table instead is the time, energy and attention that simply don't stretch across ten properties at once. So far it has worked, and I intend to carry on this way.
